Music Building Elevators and Restrooms - December 2018 through December 2019

Summary of Project:

Replace both elevators with modern cars, appropriate indicators (floor/direction), and replace motors and pulley systems.
Renovate existing restrooms with modern fixtures, updated fixture counts, and brought up to accessibility codes.
Add an All-Gender restroom on the 1st floor.

Schedule:
January 1, 2019: demolition of LL restrooms and shutdown of one elevator.
December 18, 2018: fixture removal of 4th floor restrooms (quiet work).
December 10, 2018: mobilization and begin work in elevator penthouse.

Smith Memorial Hall - August 2017 through November 2018 (extended TBA)

Summary of Project:

Improved Life Safety and Code/Compliance: a) fire suppression system, b) fire stops - walls and doors throughout building, c) addition of card swipe access to selected areas, and d) ADA access for the Memorial Room.
Modernized building infrastructure: a) updated HVAC system throughout building, b) updated plumbing system throughout building, c) modernized electrical system and switch gear.
Renovated Restrooms
Refurbishment of seats, flooring, and acoustics in Recital Hall: a) refurbished and new wood flooring, b) new carpeting, c) refurbished seating, d) addition of entrance vestibules, and e) sound transfer abatement through doorways and HVAC system.

Schedule:
December 31, 2018: final day of seating installation
December 4, 2018: planning meeting for Recital Hall seating installation
